Coffee is not just an ordinary beverage, it's more than that. Often, having a cup of coffee is about sharing those light moments together with your dear ones. It’s a great way to recharge yourself and get along with your busy life. This is the reason why, many people love to indulge themselves in the aroma and flavour of a delicious cup of coffee. Hence Coffee shops are a major hit and operate in different corners around the world.

A ‘Coffee Shop’ is a restaurant where beverages like tea and coffee and light snacks or pastries are served during day time and in late evenings. Sometimes coffee shops remain open throughout the night as well. Coffee specialty shops offer the coffee drinker a chance to experience all qualities, styles, and tastes of gourmet coffee.

The service at the coffee shop is speedy and economical. In most coffee shops, place mats are used instead of table cloths. Also, less expensive crockery & clothing are generally used.

The guest is received at the door and is seated by the head waiter or the hostess. The order is taken by the hostess or directly by the waiter. Emphasis is placed on quick service.

After the order is taken, cold or hot water (usually cold water) is served according to the guest’s choice. The waiter receives the food item from the kitchen in a plate and places it in front of the guest. The food is served from the right side of the guest if possible. Elaborate dishes which require time consuming preparation and serving and flambé dishes are not offered at the coffee shop. Pastries are served from a tray or from a small pastry wagon.

The table is cleared when all persons at the table have finished their meal. Plates are then removed from the right side of the guest. All dishes are removed before the dessert is served.

A cup of coffee or espresso or dessert is offered after the meal. The coffee is poured from a large pot making sure it is hot. Guests are asked, prior to the coffee service, whether they prefer cream or milk, since the cost of these can be eliminated if they desire their coffee black.
